What is "choice?"  Do you really understand the meaning and definition of choice and the consequences of being pro-choice? "Choice" is a nice, innocent-sounding and safe code-word that really means, "I choose to support the murder of innocent, helpless and defenseless babies.  Choice and those who choose to be pro-choice are under the illusion that think  saying they are pro-choice is an innocent, nicer-sounding and safer code-word... that really means you support the murder of the most innocent of all human life, the defenseless, unborn baby.

There's just no polite or nice way to say I want to have my unborn baby killed by paying a doctor to "terminate my pregnancy" through legal abortion. Even saying "I want to terminate my pregnancy" is a code since everyone knows that a person isn't pregnant with a blob of tissue. When someone is "pregnant," that means there is a baby boy or girl in their womb.  So, the ultra-extremists from the left, can't use "terminate my pregnancy" because it actually means, to everyone that hears it, that there's a baby that is being "terminated" or a baby is about to be killed. 

Those who are pro-choice, the far-left extremists and ultra-radicals of the democratic party masquerade with semantics, and hiding behind code-words like "pro-choice" and "moderates" wanting you to believe they are moderates!  In fact, there is nothing moderate about the murder of innocent, defenseless, and helpless babies. The far-left liberals and ultra-extremists use code-words of choice, moderate, abortion right's ... Abortion rights??? That one always made me think twice... wondering if the far-left extremists had made another mistake about "choosing" this particular "code-word." Especially since even the most ultra-extremists of the far-left understand that there is not one single thing that is "right" about abortion. Please show us where to find in our U.S. Constitution where it states that a woman has a right to murder an unborn baby?  Nobody has the "right" to murder anyone, or take anyone's life, this includes the life of an unborn baby.  

Here's another code-word/phrase the far-left extremists like to use - "woman's right to choose." Take the semantics and code-words out, they really mean a woman's right to MURDER their own innocent, defenseless, unborn baby. Since the radically-left really mean murdering innocent babies, through "legal" abortion, maybe a better code-word for them to use, since they can't say what they really mean, would be would be to "choice" their babies when they want to murder them. "Choicing" a baby would be like "offing" someone, and the radically-left could define "choicing" unborn babies as the end-result of "terminating a pregnancy."  "Choicing" would be their new code-word.  "Offing" would really be more accurate, but then people might confuse the offing of someone OUTSIDE of the womb, instead of the "offing" of an unborn baby INSIDE the womb.  

Aborting an innocent, defenseless baby is NOT a choice, it is a pre-meditated decision to MURDERING an innocent, defenseless and helpless human being that you may have helped create.

Choice is NOT a private decision, not when the choice involves the lives of four people - These four people are;  1.  The baby.  2.  The baby's mother.  3. The baby's father.  4. God, the Creator of Life.

Does the unborn baby have a choice in this "private matter" that may end in THEIR deaths???

Does the baby's dad have a choice in this "private matter" that PERMANENTLY and FOREVER concerns the Life and Death decision of HIS Son or Daughter that is in the "mother's" womb???

What does God have to say about the unborn baby in the womb??? Quite a lot! 

So much for a "private matter" and a "right to privacy."  Murdering someone - even a baby, is NOT a private matter or a "right." It is a WRONG!

We are confident in stating that those who cannot speak for themselves, the unborn babies, 
would all agree, if they had a choice, that they would all choose life, as well as many of their Dad's.

Real Choice is choosing between the choices of:

1.  Choosing to keep, love and protect your baby, as the baby's mom or dad, after "Choosing" to Become Pregnant, Through Those "choices" that ALWAYS lead to a Possible Pregnancy.

2.  "Choosing" for the baby's dad to raise, love and protect his baby.

3.  Choosing to place the baby for adoption.

WASHINGTON – While the military "quagmire" in Iraq was said to tip the scales of power in the U.S. midterm elections, most Americans have no idea more of their fellow citizens – men, women and children – were murdered this year by illegal aliens than the combined death toll of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan since those military campaigns began. 

Though no federal statistics are kept on murders or any other crimes committed by illegal aliens, a number of groups have produced estimates based on data collected from prisons, news reports and independent research.

Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens. That's 21,900 since Sept. 11, 2001. 

Total U.S. troop deaths in Iraq as of last week were reported at 2,863. Total U.S. troop deaths in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan during the five years of the Afghan campaign are currently at 289, according to the Department of Defense. 

But the carnage wrought by illegal alien murderers represents only a fraction of the pool of blood spilled by American citizens as a result of an open border and un-enforced immigration laws.

While King reports 12 Americans are murdered daily by illegal aliens, he says 13 are killed by drunk illegal alien drivers – for another annual death toll of 4,745. That's 23,725 since Sept. 11, 2001.

While no one – in or out of government – tracks all U.S. accidents caused by illegal aliens, the statistical and anecdotal evidence suggests many of last year's 42,636 road deaths involved illegal aliens.

A report by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Study found 20 percent of fatal accidents involve at least one driver who lacks a valid license. In California, another study showed that those who have never held a valid license are about five times more likely to be involved in a fatal road accident than licensed drivers.

Statistically, that makes them an even greater danger on the road than drivers whose licenses have been suspended or revoked – and nearly as dangerous as drunk drivers.

King also reports eight American children are victims of sexual abuse by illegal aliens every day – a total of 2,920 annually. Based on a one-year in-depth study, Deborah Schurman-Kauflin of the Violent Crimes Institute of Atlanta estimates there are about 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders in the United States who have had an average of four victims each. She analyzed 1,500 cases from January 1999 through April 2006 that included serial rapes, serial murders, sexual homicides and child molestation committed by illegal immigrants.

As the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. increases, so does the number of American victims.
According to Edwin Rubenstien, president of ESR Research Economic Consultants, in Indianapolis in 1980, federal and state correctional facilities held fewer than 9,000 criminal aliens. But at the end of 2003, approximately 267,000 illegal aliens were incarcerated in all U.S. jails and prisons.

While the federal government doesn't track illegal alien murders, illegal alien rapes or illegal alien drunk driving deaths, it has studied illegal aliens incarcerated in U.S. prisons.

In April 2005, the Government Accountability Office released a report on a study of 55,322 illegal aliens incarcerated in federal, state, and local facilities during 2003. It found the following:

• The 55,322 illegal aliens studied represented a total of 459,614 arrests – some eight arrests per illegal alien;
• Their arrests represented a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses – some 13 offenses per illegal alien;
• 36 percent had been arrested at least five times before.

"While the vast majority of illegal aliens are decent people who work hard and are only trying to make a better life for themselves and their families, (something you or I would probably do if we were in their place), it is also a fact that a disproportionately high percentage of illegal aliens are criminals and sexual predators," states Peter Wagner, author of a new report called "The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration." "That is part of the dark side of illegal immigration and when we allow the 'good' in we get the 'bad' along with them. The question is, how much 'bad' is acceptable and at what price?"

"AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!" That's what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (When more than 3,000 Americans were killed -AD) and maybe it was, but I think it should have been "Get Out of Bed!" In fact, I think the alarm clock has been buzzing since 1979 and we have continued to hit the snooze button and roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then. 

It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a country going through a religious and political upheaval when a group of Iranian students attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was an outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world's most powerful country hostage and paralyzed a Presidency. The attack on this sovereign U. S. embassy set the stage for events to follow for the next 25 years. 

America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience and had a serious threat from the Soviet Union when then, President Carter, had to do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but stood as a symbol of America's inability to deal with terrorism. 

America's military had been decimated and down sized/right sized since the end of the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly organized military was called on to execute a complex mission that was doomed from the start. 

Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans began to be kidnapped and killed throughout the Middle East. America could do little to protect her citizens living and working abroad. The attacks against U.S. soil continued.

In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in Beirut When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once more.  

Then just six short months later in 1983 a large truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 U.S. servicemen are killed. America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more. 

Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her slumber.

The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept. 

Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe . In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid .

Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rhein-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are continually attacked. 

Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of the 
passenger list and executed.

The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4 and the most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie , Scotland in 1988, killing 259.

Clinton treated these terrorist acts as crimes; in fact we are still trying to bring these people to trial. These are acts of war. 

The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.

The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America . In January 1993, two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters in Langley , Virginia . 

The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City . Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an act of war? The Snooze alarm is depressed again. 

Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women. 

A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35 yards from the US military compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia . It destroys the Khobar Towers, a US Air Force barracks, killing 19 and injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they see that America does not respond decisively. 

They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. These attacks were planned with precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks and goes back to sleep. 

The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12 October 2000 , when a small craft pulled along side the ship and exploded killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US War Ship is an act of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep. 

And of course you know the events of 11 September 200. Most Americans think this was the first attack against US soil or in America. How wrong they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep. 

In the news lately we have seen lots of finger pointing from every high officials in government over what they knew and what they didn't know. But if you've read the papers and paid a little attention I think you can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been developing since 1979. 

The President is right on when he says we are engaged in a war. I think we have been in a war for the past 25 years and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to "Get out of Bed" and act decisively now. America has been changed forever.. We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again and again and roll over and go back to sleep. 

After the attack on Pearl Harbor , Admiral Yamamoto said "... it seems all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant." This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around the world. 

Support Our Troops and support President Bush for having the courage, political or militarily, to address what so many who preceded him didn't have the backbone to do, both Democrat and Republican. This is not a political thing to be hashed over in an election year this is an AMERICAN thing. This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of our children in years to come. 

If you believe in this please forward it to as many people as you can especially to the young people and all those who dozed off in history class and who seem so quick to protest such a necessary military action. If you don't believe it, just delete it and go back to sleep.

In 1999, my life and life's work were forever changed in the span of 45 minutes. During that time, I held a live aborted baby until he died. I was a labor and delivery nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Unbeknownst to me, the hospital was and is involved in a method of abortion that sometimes results in babies being aborted alive. The baby boy I held had been aborted alive at the gestational age of 21 weeks because he had Down syndrome. His parents did not want to hold him, and his attending nurse did not have time to hold him, so she was taking him to the Soiled Utility Room to die alone. But I could not bear the thought of this suffering child dying alone, so I cradled and rocked him for the short time he lived.

After this devastating experience, I read Proverbs 24:11-12 in a new light:  

Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die.

Don’t try to disclaim responsibility by saying you didn’t know about it.

For God, who knows all hearts, knows yours, and he knows you knew! And he will reward everyone according to his deeds.

To begin, I must say that until yesterday, Friday, July 2, 2004, I was strongly pro-choice. I am a pre-medical student, and being very scientific, I understood that the mass of cells that forms the fetal body is not often capable of survival before 24 weeks in the womb. I am also somewhat liberal, and I believed that every woman should have the right to choose what she did with her body and one that could potentially be growing inside of her. This summer, I was accepted into a pre-medicalprogram in NYC in which we are allowed to shadow doctors and see all sorts of medical procedures. When given the opportunity to see an abortion, I did not hesitate to accept the offer. It was something new, edgy, and exciting that I had never seen. When I entered the operating room, it felt like any other I had ever been in. On the table in front of me, I saw a woman, legs up as if delivering a child although she was asleep. Next to her was a tray of instruments for the abortion and a vacuum machine for suctioning the fetal tissues from the uterus. The doctors put on their gowns and masks and the procedure began. The cervix was held open with a crude metal instrument and a large transparent tube was stuck inside of the woman. Within a matter of seconds, the machine's motor was engaged and blood, tissue, and tiny organs were pulled out of their environment into a filter. A minute later, the vacuum choked to a halt. The tube was removed, and stuck to the end was a small body and a head attached haphazardly to it, what was formed of the neck snapped. The ribs had formed with a thin skin covering them, the eyes had formed, and the inner organs had begun to fuction. The tiny heart of the fetus, obviously a little boy, had just stopped -- forever. The vacuum filter was opened, and the tiny arms and legs that had been torn off of the fetus were accounted for. The fingers and toes had the beginnings of their nails on them. The doctors, proud of their work, reassembled the body to show me. Tears welled up in my eyes as they removed the baby boy from the table and shoved his body into a container for disposal. I have not been able to think of anything since yesterday at 10:30 besides what that baby boy might have been. I don't think that people realize what an abortion actually is until they see it happen. I have been tortured by these images - so real and so vivid - for two days now...and I was just a spectator. New Brunswick: Rutgers University Press, 1996 This work by a pro-choice author included a chapter on how to repel 'antis' (antichoicers) However, there was also a chapter on how clinic workers emotionally deal with 'aborted tissue.' The new minority head of the House Nancy Pelosi, by her actions, is a scandal to the Church. By Archbishop William Levada's inactions of carrying out the necessary disciplines of Canon Law regarding formal excommunication of those who legislate for abortion, he is a scandal to the Church. Will he listen even to the Church? An Open Letter to the Archbishop of San Francisco Dear Archbishop Levada,    Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, who is in your Archdiocese, accepts the proposition that women should have the right to have their unborn child killed, if they so choose. Would you believe that she also claims to be a conservative Catholic.    If condoning the killing of God's precious children and I might say embracing homosexuality, which she does, is being conservative, I'd hate to see what a liberal Catholic would be like.    Pelosi also condones the killing of children while they are being born -- the gruesome, barbaric and excruciating painful partial-birth infanticide.    And what are Catholic bishops doing about all the Catholic Senators and congressmen/women who accept this evil? Absolutely nothing. By their acceptance of sin, these Catholic politicians are propagating evil. In essence they sign the death warrants. They are no different from abortionists.    I did not know that you can receive Holy Communion with a mortal sin on your soul and yet Pelosi does. By her actions she is a scandal to the Church. By your inactions, your Excellency, you are a scandal to the Church. Think about that.    How could a priest offer the body and blood of Jesus Christ knowing this? I remember when I was an altar boy, the priest would not allow my fellow altar boy to receive Holy Communion, because when he opened his mouth the priest saw something. What I don't know, but I always thought that it was traces of food, or candy. Back then you could not receive Holy Communion if you ate anything that day.    How times have changes. Now, apparently, you can receive Holy Communion with a mortal sin on your soul.    There is one surefire way to end the killing of unborn children and reversing Roe Vs Wade -- public excommunication of ALL Catholic pro-abort politicians, if they do not repent their sin, If you do not do this, then in reality, you do NOT consider unborn children to be on par with born children. If you do not, then you are not Catholic, and therefore have abrogated your authority as shepherd of your flock.    I know you don't want that. You would never sit by and do nothing while 1.4 million born children, or adults were killed every year, if someone chose that. You wouldn't, would you?    Bishops came down hard on "Catholics For Free Choice." You say they are impostors. That they are not really Catholic and yet you tolerate the 13 Catholic Senators who are pro-aborts. Nine of whom even voted not to ban partial-birth infanticides. It seems that you have two sets of rules. One for the famous and powerful and one for the rest of the Catholics.      There are also about 55 Catholic congressmen/women who are pro-aborts. They sold their souls to satan for votes.  But in the past two elections, the country found out that it does not pay to mock God.  Candidates backed by various pro-death feminist groups, such as Emily's List were soundly defeated.    I never thought I would be saying this, but thank God for the Evangelical politicians, because somewhere along the line, Catholic politicians have decided to accept the tenets of satan. On average one baby is aborted every 20 seconds in America . That’s 3 babies every minute, 180 babies every hour, 4320 babies every day, or 1,576,800 babies every year! This number does not include the number of pregnancies that had multiple babies in the mother’s womb.

Abortion was legalized, in the U.S. in 1973 by the Supreme Court's ruling in Roe versus Wade. Between 1973 and today, (2004) there have been approximately  48,880,800 abortions performed in the United States.  That’s nearly 50,000,000 babies or about 20% of the United States present population that have been killed since Roe versus Wade.

Accurate abortion statistics of any kind are pretty much impossible to pin down for several reasons. One reason is that some states don't require abortion clinics to report the number of abortions they perform. The state of Alabama didn't require them to report abortion numbers until the early 90's and even then the regulation was held up in court by the abortion clinics. So, statistics are hard to come by.

Planned Parenthood was founded in 1916 by Margaret Sanger, a social radical and proponent of eugenics. Selective breeding, she said, was necessary to control those who were "unfit to breed," and that if minorities had high birth rates, "economic turmoil" would result. Today over two-thirds of all abortion centers are located in minority communities.

Crimes Against Children Who profits financially in cases of child sex abuse?

The dirty little secret is that Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation know they will sell more abortions, more birth control products and more treatments for sexually transmitted diseases when they turn a blind eye to statutory rape. Men involved with minors need to conceal these sexual relationships, so they take their underage victims to clinics that offer minors confidential abortion services and birth control. When Planned Parenthood and other family planning service providers ignore child abuse reporting laws, they help these men to continue their ongoing sexual abuse of children.

It's illegal for an adult man to seduce an underage girl into a sexual relationship. Every state has statutory rape laws that prohibit sex between adults and children. But Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Federation, family planning service providers, and all other clinics that profit from selling products and services to sexually active underage girls, have a financial incentive to ignore the laws that were designed to protect children from sexual abuse. And we now have proof that over 90% of these businesses willfully ignore the child abuse reporting laws and pretend that adult-child sex is legal if the child participates willingly.

Who is using tax dollars to protect child abusers?

Men who prey on underage girls just have to put up the cash and Planned Parenthood clinics will quietly help these men cover up statutory rape. Despite receiving millions of tax dollars from various government entities, Planned Parenthood clinics consistently counsel underage girls to conceal ongoing statutory rape. Clinics do this because they profit every time they convince a minor child to utilize their services. Planned Parenthood's profits from selling pregnancy tests, abortions and other services to statutory rape victims would drop substantially if they actually obeyed the laws on reporting potential child sexual abuse.

All fifty states require healthcare workers and others to report suspected child abuse to Child Protective Services or some other law enforcement agency. But family planning services and abortion clinics operated by Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation continue to thumb their noses at child abuse reporting laws. The National Abortion Federation, Planned Parenthood, family planning service providers and other women's clinics profit handsomely by pretending statutory rape is just consensual sex and by treating evidence of suspected child sex abuse as confidential patient information.

Court Rules Fetus Is a Person

The Arkansas Supreme Court has ruled that a fetus is a person, reversing a lower court's ruling in a wrongful death suit brought by a man whose wife and unborn baby died during birth.

The state Supreme Court cited Thursday a 1999 law that changed Arkansas ' criminal code to include a living fetus of 12 weeks gestation in the definition of a person.

Philip Aka claimed the defendants were medically negligent in unnecessarily inducing labor in his wife, Evangeline, failing to discontinue the procedure, failing to perform a caesarean section, failing to resuscitate his wife or the unborn child, and failing to obtain informed consent.

A circuit judge ruled against Aka, citing a Supreme Court ruling that a fetus is not a person in wrongful-death cases. The same year of the ruling, the legislature approved a law stating that an unborn fetus could be considered a person for some purposes in criminal law.

Mississippi Supreme Court Expands Wrongful Death Law
to Cover Unborn Fetuses

JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi Supreme Court, in a decision criticized by one of its members as an assault on Roe v. Wade (search), held Thursday that a fetus is a "person" under state law and wrongful death claims can be filed on its behalf.

The justices upheld Tracy Tucker's right to pursue a wrongful death claim (search) after she alleged emotional distress and a mistake by her doctors caused her to have a miscarriage (search) in 1997. The fetus was 19 weeks old at the time, according to doctors.

Attorneys for the defendants couldn't be reached or declined comment.

Presiding Justice Chuck McRae, in a written dissent, described the decision as an assault on Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling that legalized abortion in America.

The 6-2 ruling expands the definition of a "person" in wrongful death statutes to include an "unborn child."

Current law allows people to sue for the wrongful death of a newly born, or prematurely born, fetus that would have been expected to live. Presiding Justice Jim Smith, writing for the court, said Thursday's ruling in the lawsuit brought by Tucker had nothing to do with abortion. He said doctors performing abortions are still protected by Mississippi law.

"Tucker's interest is to protect and preserve the life of her unborn child, not in the exercise of her right to terminate that life which has been declared constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court," Smith wrote.

Pat Cartrette, executive director of Right to Life of Jackson, said while the decision may not directly affect Roe vs. Wade, it gives a fetus some legal protection when it develops reflexes, at some cases as early as 8 weeks.

Sondra Goldschein, state strategies attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union said she was troubled by the court's definition of a fetus as a "person."

"Anytime the fetus is recognizable as a person it chips away at the foundation of Roe," she said.

More beautiful words could never be written. Human life is not just another animal. Evolution is the world’s biggest lie! God has a plan for His human family, and no living soul is exempt. Every part of our physical body was designed by the Creator. He did not simply create Adam and Eve and leave it all to the process of addition. Each living soul is uniquely designed and individually planned. Any other possibility defies common sense.

Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Ghost in Mary’s womb and in that instant Jesus’ presence, in Mary’s womb,  affected Mary and others. Elizabeth and her son, six-months after conception, were filled with the Holy Ghost by the presence of Mary and her womb-borne “Savior and Deliverer.” This kind of activity in the wombs of these mothers testifies to the glory of an unborn child! That God would choose to send His ONLY Son to redeem mankind by using His creative ingeniousness of a Mother’s womb, forever proves life begins at conception. Jesus Christ is eternal and there was no nine-month lapse in His conscious existence. He did not “come down” from heaven when He was born. He came down when He was conceived by the Holy Ghost in Mary’s womb.

The blood of every murdered baby is crying from the earth! Can you hear these moans of sorrow? The Heavenly Father can.

When Cain killed Abel, the Father cried to this first murderer, “Where is Abel thy brother?” Cain answered back with a lie and an excuse, “I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?” Then God spoke awesome words, “And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.” (Genesis 4:9-10)

The Judgments of God are gathering like a “pinned-up storm”, soon to be unleashed. Blood, innocent blood of the multitude of “little ones” never allowed to see the light of day, are crying and God is listening.

All that God asks of us is to weep in repentance and to stand up in defense that we may end this sacrifice of our babies. Jeremiah said “crying and sighing” was our duty in the face of every abomination of sin. If we will both “weep in repentance” and “stand in defense”, our God will continue to raise up “pastors and political leaders” that will put their careers on the line for the unborn. “Roe versus Wade” has a death warrant that is being signed by the praying people of America . The anger and mindless action of the liberal in America is a testimony that the “death warrant” against “Roe versus Wade” (U.S. Supreme Court Decision on January 22, 1973) may soon be served.

True love between a man and woman leads to marriage. It is natural for a man and woman to be together. This is recorded in Genesis, the first book of the Old Testament, when God blessed man and woman and called them to be “fruitful and multiply.”

And God created man to his own image,

Individual life begins with conception by the union of the couple's sex cells or gametes. The 23 chromosomes of the paternal sperm (male pronucleus) fuses with the 23 chromosomes of the maternal oocyte (egg or female pronucleus) at fertilization to create a single cell embryo or zygote containing 46 chromosomes. The fertilization process takes about 24 hours. The new human zygote has the inherent capacity or potential to become a fully rational and cognizant person!

The Pre-embryonic Period extends from the moment of fertilization of the ovum to the 4th week after conception. During this phase, the zygote undergoes continual cell division, implants in the uterus, and forms the primary germ layers, which give rise to the organs of the human body.  

The zygote begins dividing about every 12-20 hours , first into 2 cells called blastomeres. The blastomeres divide repeatedly without growth and thus decrease in size. By three days division into 16 cells has taken place, and the zygote assumes the shape of a mulberry, becoming known as a 16 cell morula. The morula then leaves the fallopian tube and enters the uterine cavity three to four days after fertilization. Cell division continues, and a cavity known as a blastocele forms in the center of the morula. With the appearance of the cavity in the center, the entire structure is now called a blastocyst.

The presence of the blastocyst indicates that two cell types are forming: the embryoblast (inner cell mass on the inside of the blastocele), and the trophoblast (the cells on the outside of the blastocele). The inner cell mass becomes the embryo, and the trophoblast becomes the placenta. The blastocyst implants into the endometrial lining of the uterus via its trophoblast from the 7th to 10th day after fertilization. he pre-embryonic period includes the formation of the three primary germ layers, the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm, from which come the organs of the human body.

The Embryonic Period is characterized by dramatic cell differentiation from the fourth through the eighth week, so that the beginnings of all essential structures of the human body are present.

A fully recognizable human embryo is complete after the eighth week!
The human embryo now measures just over one inch long and weighs about 4.5 grams.

The Fetal Period lasts from the ninth week to the 38th week after conception, and is characterized by rapid growth. Viability is the time when the fetus can live outside of the womb, independently of the mother. Prematurity is defined when an infant is born before 37 weeks of gestational age. With modern neonatal units, extremely premature babies may survive at 23-25 weeks gestation (21-23 weeks embryonic growth), although there is a high risk of permanent handicap. The decision to resuscitate or offer comfort care for the extremely premature infant is a complex one: the goal to care should be one that will increase survival and decrease the prevalence of disability among survivors.¹¹

As physicians do not know when fertilization occurs, we measure the term of the baby from the first day of the last menstrual period, which is approximately two weeks prior to fertilization, and this is known as the Gestational Age. Thus while the human takes 38 weeks (266 days) to develop in the womb prior to birth, the Gestational Age is given as 40 weeks (280 days) or 10 lunar months (each lunar month being 28 days), or roughly 9 calendar months and 7 days. This time is divided into the three trimesters of pregnancy, lasting 3 months each. The expected Due Date for delivery, or EDC (Estimated Date of Confinement), is calculated by adding 7 days to the first day of the last menstrual period and then subtracting 3 months. For example, if the pregnant patient's first day of her last menstrual period was February 1, then her due date is November 8.

Physicians have three primary means of detecting pregnancy - the physical examination of the mother, the pregnancy test, and the ultrasound.

The trophoblast after implantation begins secreting the protein HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin. All pregnancy tests - home urine and hospital serum pregnancy tests - detect this protein at varying degrees of sensitivity. Since implantation occurs 7-10 days after conception, a serum pregnancy test may detect pregnancy as early as 7-10 days after conception, and almost certainly within two weeks of conception, or 4 weeks of gestational age. Once implantation occurs, human chorionic gonadotropin doubles every 1.4 to 2.0 days.

The ultrasound has become a most valuable tool in assessing life in the womb. The earliest definitive finding on ultrasound is the gestational sac, which may be detected from 4-6 weeks of gestation. The heartbeat may be detected on ultrasound as early as 6 weeks of gestation! The baby's heartbeat may be heard with a stethoscope by 16 to 19 weeks of gestation. The normal fetal heart rate ranges from 120 to 160 beats per minute.

A fully-formed baby can readily be seen on ultrasound by the first trimester of pregnancy.

NORMAL LABOR AND DELIVERY

Parturition is the birth process of the baby. Labor begins with involuntary uterine contractions that first result in effacement and dilation of the cervix, and then, in conjunction with voluntary bearing-down of the mother, the progress of the baby down the birth canal. Crowning is the presentation of the baby's head at the introitus or vaginal opening. Delivery occurs with the complete birth of the baby!

Five essential factors influence the process of labor: the baby or the passenger, the size of the birth canal, or "passageway," the "power" or strength, frequency, and duration of uterine contractions, the position of the placenta, and the psychologic state of the mother.

 

Vertex and Breech Presentations

The ideal situation is for the baby to be in a longitudinal or vertical lie and to present head first in the birth canal, or vertex presentation. Delivery may be difficult if the baby is in a vertical lie but a breech presentation. Breech presentations are called frank when the pelvic sacrum enters first, complete when the pelvis and both feet enter, and footling when one foot enters the birth canal. Delivery is impossible if the baby is in transverse lie, and this generally leads the obstetrician to surgically remove the baby by Caesarean Section.

There are three traditional stages to labor

The first stage occurs from the beginning of uterine contractions to the complete dilatation of the cervix. The beginning of labor often coincides with "show," the discharge of the mucus plug of the cervix, and the "water breaking," the release of amniotic fluid with the rupture of the amniotic sac. Effacement of the cervix means the thinning of the cervix, and dilatation refers to the widening of the cervical diameter from 1 cm to 10 cm, to allow for the progress of the baby down the birth canal.

The second stage lasts from full dilatation of the cervix with transition down the birth canal, to the actual delivery of the baby. Progress in the descent of the presenting part (usually the head) is determined by vaginal examination until crowning occurs. The location of the head in relation to the ischial spines is designated the station, and is a mean of determining the progress of the baby down the birth canal. The level of the ischial spines is considered to be station 0, and the position of the head is described in centimeters minus (-1 to -5) above the spines or plus (+1 to +5) below the spines.

Delivery of the Baby

Once crowning (A) occurs, gentle delivery of the head (B) follows. Gentle downward traction brings descent and then delivery of the anterior shoulder (C). Subsequent gentle upward traction allows delivery of the posterior shoulder (D). The rest of the body easily follows once the shoulders are delivered, and the newborn is here!

The baby enters the world! 

The third stage occurs from the delivery of the baby to the delivery of the placenta.

IMMEDIATE CARE OF THE NEWBORN

The newborn must receive immediate care upon delivery. The delivery team must first ensure a clear airway. A bulb syringe is used to suction the mouth to prevent aspiration. Then the nares (nose) is aspirated. Suctioning of the nares stimulates the neonate to take a breath.

The umbilical cord is clamped about 30 seconds after delivery when cord pulsations cease. The cord is examined for the normal presence of two arteries and one vein.

The newborn must be kept warm, generally by placing a blanket around the baby's head and body, and then placing the baby on the mother's abdomen.

The condition of the baby is assessed at one minute and 5 minutes, generally by using the APGAR Score. The APGAR Score assesses the baby's heartbeat by auscultation with the stethoscope; respirations by observance of chest wall movements; muscle tone, based on movement of the extremities; reflex irritability, the response of the baby to suctioning; and color, whether blue or pale, body pink with cyanotic feet, or all pink. The one-minute score is variable, but a score of 7 or greater is generally indicative of a healthy baby, and the ideal five-minute score is 10.

When Does (Human) Life Begin?

The most distinguished scientific meeting of recent years that considered this question in depth was the First International Conference on Abortion, held in Washington D.C., in October 1967. It brought together authorities from around the world in the fields of medicine, law, ethics and social sciences. The first major question considered by the medical group was, "When does human life begin?" Their unanimous conclusion (19-1) was as follows: "The majority of our group could find no point in time between the union of the sperm and the egg, or at least the blastocyst stage, at which point we could say that this was not human life." They continued, "The changes occurring between implantation, a six-week embryo, a six-month fetus, a one-week child and a mature adult are merely stages of development and maturation." (This quotation is taken from Handbook on Abortion by Dr. J.C. Willke.)

Hippocrates was a Greek physician, who lived from 460 to 377 B.C. He was referred to in ancient times as "Hippocrates the Great." Aristotle in his Politics referred to him as "The Great Physician." Until recently he was known as "The Father of Modern Medicine." The reason this man was so revered in medical circles is that the Oath, which bears his name, was the foundation of medical morals and ethics for more than two thousand years. And, although Hippocrates himself may not have actually formulated it, until very recent times it was an honored custom for every doctor to take this oath - and keep it!

The Oath is rather long and involved, so I shall give just the salient points: "I will give no deadly medicine to anyone if asked or to suggest any such counsel. Furthermore, I will not give to a woman a pessary to produce an abortion."

In 1948, this Oath was repeated, in essence, and its values enshrined in the "Declaration of Geneva," by the World Medical Association. The Declaration says, in part, "I will maintain the utmost respect for human life from the time of conception. Even under threat, I will not use my medical knowledge contrary to the laws of humanity. I make these promises solemnly, freely and upon my honour."

So even by pagan standards, the raison d'etre of the doctor's vocation was, from the very beginning, to care and cure but never to kill. It is a sad commentary on the present state of medical morals that it can be statistically proven that the most dangerous place to be today is in a mother's womb!

1975 - February 15: Boston abortionist Kenneth C. Edelin is found guilty of manslaughter for the death of an unborn child. (see also Dec. 17, 1976 )

March 10: The first Human Life Amendment is introduced in the U.S. Senate by Sens. James L. Buckley (Cons.-NY) and Jesse Helms (R-NC).

Court Rules Life Begins at Conception

JEFFERSON CITY _ From the moment of conception, a fetus is a legal "person" for whom a wrongful death lawsuit can be filed, according to a decision handed down by the Missouri Supreme Court Tuesday (April 25).

In a 4-3 split decision, the state high court upheld the right of an unmarried father to sue for the auto-accident death of his unborn fetus.

Jason O'Connor's unborn child was killed in a car accident in August 1990, according to the decision. The woman carrying the fetus, Vicki Richards, also was killed when the car she was riding in was hit by a tractor trailer. She was about four months pregnant.

O'Connor sought damages from the death for his unborn child under a state law that allows a civil damage suit for the death of a relative.

In its decision, the Missouri Supreme Court held that O'Connor could file suit for damages under the state's wrongful death law.

The court based its decision on state law that says that life begins at the moment of conception.

The majority opinion that law represents a clear decision by the state legislature that all laws should consider a fetus, even if non-viable, as a legal "person."

"We must be more sensitive to legislative direction and less sensitive to our own evaluation of policy considerations," the court wrote.

The statute, court wrote, "does set out a cannon of interpretation enacted by the general assembly directing that the time of conception and not viability is the determinative point at which the legally protectable rights, privileges, and immunities of an unborn child should be deemed to arise."

Neither the majority opinion nor the dissenting opinion of Chief Justice Ann Covington made any reference to abortion nor to U.S. Supreme Court decisions that have prevented government from prohibiting a woman from obtaining an abortion of her non-viable fetus.

Both anti-abortion and abortion-rights advocates say the court's decision does not involve abortion.

"It has nothing to do with abortion," said Crystal Williams, the lobbyist for Planned Parenthood, a family planning clinic and abortion provider.

Samuel Lee, pro-life lobbyist, said the decision will not have a direct effect on the abortion debate, but may impact the future.

"This decision shows how schizophrenic the law is," he said.

Life Begins At Conception

The year was 1969 ... Law and politics had not yet "altered medical science."*  The terminology of medical texts had not yet been changed to depersonalize life in the womb. (The pregnant woman was "the mother" and the fetus was "the child" or "baby.") McGraw-Hill Inc. was publishing a book on Conception, Birth and Contraception and needed some input from an authority on the subject. It turned to Planned Parenthood and the Sex Information & Education Council of the United States .

"This book provides a solid base for understanding the anatomy of reproduction," wrote Mary S. Calderone, MD, Executive Director of SIECUS, in her Introduction to the 129-page book. "Access to such fine books as this one will assure our young people that ... finally adults are becoming willing to 'tell it like it is.'"

Similarly, "Dr. George Langmyhr of Planned Parenthood Federation of America ... reviewed the material on contraception," state authors Robert J. Demarest and John J. Sciarra, MD, PhD, in their Foreword.

Within the pages of Conception, Birth and Contraception, however, the pro-life position is presented with pictorial and verbal accuracy. The book clearly pushes contraceptives, with some faulty information on the safety of the IUD, etc., but the personhood of the unborn is fully supported throughout the text. 

In fact, the book's own glossary definition of the term "fetus" begins with: "An unborn child." Pregnancy, likewise, is defined as: "The condition of being with child."

In the aftermath of Roe v. Wade, of course, today's Planned Parenthood -- largest abortion provider in the world -- would never admit that life begins at conception, or depict the infant in utero, in full-page illustrations, as a person. To do so, would suggest not only a violation of rights, but even murder, in the diabolical Roe v. Wade decision.

No doubt today's SIECUS, as well, would attempt to discredit the pro-life (factual) content of this "fine book" which it's leader in 1969 described so positively.

Following are some excerpts from the book, approved by Planned Parenthood and SIECUS four years before the legalization of abortion:

"... at least one [sperm] will reach the egg, fertilize it, and conception will take place. A new life will begin." (page 15)

Oxygen and nutrients pass through the placenta, from the bloodstream of the mother to the fetus, and waste products from the fetus pass in the reverse direction into the bloodstream of the mother." "Each of us has a very precise starting moment which is the time at which the whole necessary and sufficient genetic information is gathered inside one cell, the fertilized egg, and this is the moment of fertilization. There is not the slightest doubt about that and we know that this information is written on a kind of ribbon which we call the DNA."

Jérome Lejeune, M.D., Ph.D., tells us much about the intricacies of the beginning of human life. Contrary to the popular view that the tiny baby becomes more and more "developed" as the weeks of pregnancy go on, Dr. Lejeune says that the very first cell, the fertilized egg, is "the most specialized cell under the sun." No other cell will ever again have the same instructions in the life of the individual being created.

In the words of Dr. Lejeune, "Each of us has a very precise starting moment which is the time at which the whole necessary and sufficient genetic information is gathered inside one cell, the fertilized egg, and this is the moment of fertilization. There is not the slightest doubt about that and we know that this information is written on a kind of ribbon which we call the DNA."

He explains that the fertilized egg contains more information about the new individual than can be stored in five sets (not volumes) of the Encyclopedia Britannica (if enlarged to normal print). To further emphasize the minuteness of this language, Dr. Lejeune states that if all the one-metre-long DNA of the sperms and all the one-metre-long of the ova which contain the instructions for the 5 billion human beings who will replace us on this planet were brought together in one place the total amount of matter would be roughly the size of two aspirin tablets.

When Dr. Lejeune testified in the Louisiana Legislature (House Committee on the Administration of Criminal Justice, June 7, 1990) he stated, "Recent discoveries by Dr. Alec Jeffreys of England demonstrate that this information (on the DNA molecule) is stored by a system of bar codes not unlike those found on products at the supermarket... it's not any longer a theory that each of us is unique."

Dr. Lejeune states that because of studies published within the last year we can now determine within three to seven days after fertilization if the new human being is a boy or a girl.

"I see no difference between the early person that you were at conception and the late person which you are now. You were, and are, a human being."

"At no time," Dr. Lejeune says, "is the human being a blob of protoplasm. As far as your nature is concerned, I see no difference between the early person that you were at conception and the late person which you are now. You were, and are, a human being."

In the testimony Dr. Lejeune gave on the Seven Human Embryos (Circuit Court for Blount County, Tennessee at Maryville, Equity Division, August 8-10, 1989) he compared the chromosome to a mini-cassette, in which a symphony is written, the symphony of life. He explained that if you buy a cartridge on which a Mozart symphony has been recorded and insert it in a player, what is being reproduced is the movement of the air that transmits to you the genius of Mozart. In making the analogy he said, "It's exactly the same way that life is played. On the tiny mini-cassettes which are our chromosomes are written various parts of the opus which is for human symphony, and as soon as all the information necessary and sufficient to spell the whole symphony (is brought together), this symphony plays itself, that is, a new man is beginning his career ... as soon as he has been conceived, a man is a man."

Dr. Jerome Lejeune died on April 3, 1994. Dr. Lejeune of Paris, France was a medical doctor, a Doctor of Science and a professor of Fundamental Genetics for over twenty years. Dr. Lejeune discovered the genetic cause of Down Syndrome, receiving the Kennedy Prize for the discovery and, in addition, received the Memorial Allen Award Medal, the world's highest award for work in the field of Genetics. He practiced his profession at the Hôpital des Enfants Malades (Sick Children's Hospital) in Paris . Dr. Lejeune was a member of the American Academy of the Arts and Science, a member of the Royal Society of Medicine in London, The Royal Society of Science in Stockholm, the Science Academy in Italy and Argentina, The Pontifical Academy of Science and The Academy of Medicine in France.

What Is A Real Christian?

A real Christian is one who has realized that he is a sinner and can only be saved by God's grace. It is someone who has accepted Christ's sacrifice on the cross as the payment for his sins and who realizes that he cannot work his way to heaven.

Romans 3:10 "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one"

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Nobody is perfect. All of us have done something wrong in our lives. We cannot earn heaven by our own works. Earning salvation is like trying to swim from California to Hawaii . Not even the best Olympic swimmer could make the trip.

Romans 5:12 " Wherefore as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

"Death" refers to spiritual death; the separation of man from God for all eternity. But God gives us a gift: eternal life through Jesus Christ. He does not force it on us; we must choose to accept it. But once we accept it, it is ours. We do not have to pay for it or work for it; it belongs to us forever.

Romans 5:8: But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

It would be hard enough for one of us to die for a best friend; but while we hated God and did everything against Him, Christ still loved us enough to give His life for us. That is a love that exceeds anything we could imagine.

Romans 10:9-13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"

"For the Scripture saith 'Whosoever believeth in Him shall not be ashamed'".

"For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek; for the same Lord is rich unto all that call upon Him."

"For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved".

That is what makes a Christian a Christian. There is nothing you can do yourself; the work has already been done. What you must do is accept it. The Lord wants you to come to Him; won't you do so today?  

Cloning Proves Life Begins At Conception

Science Channel - Christianity.com - Most doctors and lawmakers recognize cloning as a technological breakthrough that adds a new dimension to reproductive technology. Few realize that cloning also proves that life begins at conception!

Cloning technology is simple to understand. All cells containing DNA have 46 chromosomes except the sperm and egg, which have only 23 chromosomes each. In natural conception, 23 chromosomes of the sperm and 23 chromosomes of the egg unite to create a single cell embryo containing 46 chromosomes. The genetic makeup of every living human being is determined when the sperm and egg unite. This is commonly known as the point of conception.

Conversely, in cloning, one adult cell containing 46 chromosomes is isolated from a donor. The DNA or genetic material comprising 46 chromosomes is removed from the donor cell. Similarly, a recipient egg is selected, isolated and the 23 chromosomes of a recipient egg are removed and discarded. The 46 chromosomes of the donor cell are introduced into the now empty (enucleated) egg. This is the point of conception! Therefore, the moment the 46 chromosomes of the donor cell are introduced into the enucleated egg, a single cell embryological twin of the donor has been created.

This twin cannot become anything but a genetic duplicate of the donor. It is set on a predetermined pathway of life. It cannot have different eye color. It cannot have different hair color. It is a carbon copy in every physiological respect.

Remember Dolly? The moment that a complete set of chromosomes was introduced into an enucleated egg to create Dolly, the Dolly embryo developed in a manner identical to the donor years earlier. The DNA determined that Dolly would be a sheep physically identical to the donor. In other words, as the cells multiplied and divided, even from a single cell, the embryo followed the exact same path of development the donor followed when the donor was an embryo years earlier. It is clear, then, that the development of Dolly and all individual life is encoded in the genetic material itself and that life is sparked or ignited like a switch the moment an egg contains a complete set of chromosomes.

In view of this analysis, there is but one conclusion. Cloning proves life begins at conception. Therefore, the scientific breakthrough of cloning requires a new and fresh look at laws concerning the unborn, specifically abortion.

The Sanctity of Life

Pope John Paul II stated:  "America you are beautiful . . . and blessed . . . . The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being, but especially the weakest and most defenseless. If you want equal justice for all and true freedom and lasting peace, then America, defend life."

President Ronald Reagan in 1982 said "Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Kathy Ireland says, "I used to be pro-choice." While appearing on the TV show "Politically Incorrect," Kathy Ireland participated in a debate about abortion "rights" and whether or not Florida should approve "Choose Life" license plates. Kathy is against abortion and she defended babies in the womb by saying: "I was once pro-choice and the thing that changed my mind was, I read my husband's biology books, medical books, and what I learned was that at the moment of conception, a life starts. And this life has its own unique set of DNA, which contains a blueprint for the whole genetic makeup. The sex is determined. We know there's a life because it's growing and changing."  Kathy Ireland also spoke about abortion on the Hannity and Colmes FOX-TV show (September 2002). Ireland said: "Is it all right for the government to allow the murder of an innocent human being? The evidence I see tells me the unborn is a human being. From the moment of conception, a new life comes into being with a complete genetic blueprint. The sex is determined. The blood type is determined… the moment that I learned that the unborn was a human being, not part of the woman's body but its own individual human being, I have no choice but to defend the most vulnerable among us."

Mel Gibson said in a 1990 Barbara Walters TV special he is opposed to abortion and infidelity. He said, "God is the only one who knows how many children we should have, and we should be ready to accept them. One can't decide for oneself who comes into this world and who doesn't. That decision doesn't belong to us."

Mother Teresa stated; "The greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion, which is war against the child. The mother doesn't learn to love, but kills to solve her own problems. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want."  "The way to plan the family is natural family planning, not contraception...This (use of contraceptives) turns the attention to self and so it destroys the gift of love in him or her. In loving, the husband and wife must turn the attention to each other as happens in natural family planning, and not to self, as happens in contraception. Once that living love is destroyed by contraception, abortion follows easily . . . And abortion, which often follows from contraception, brings a people to be spiritually poor, and that is the worst poverty and the most difficult to overcome."

Susan B. Anthony, in 1889, said the abolitionist and early leader of the women's suffrage movement, opposed abortion, saying: "Sweeter even than to have had the joy of caring for children of my own has it been to me to help bring about a better state of things for mothers generally, so their unborn little ones could not be willed away from them."

Somatic cell nuclear transfer, or "cloning," involves the moving of a cell nucleus and its genetic material from one cell to another.  According to Mel Gibson, the Hollywood actor and producer of the movie, The Passion of the Christ, said that the medical and scientific community now "use scientific terms to obfuscate their true intent. They don't want to talk about human embryos or the cloning of human embryos so they use arcane scientific terms that mean the same thing, like "pluripotent stem cells" and "somatic-cell nuclear transfer." We are opposed to Prop 71 in California, which is the California Stem Cells Research and Cures/Bond Act. If passed, Prop 71 will fund, at tax-payers expense, a $3 billion to $6 billion referendum for funding embryonic-stem-cell research and human cloning. And this is done "under the false promise of panacea cures and would create a constitutional "right" to conduct human-cloning research.

It is our desire at ProLife Ministries to follow Jesus and all of His teachings, to follow His command, or "Great Commission," that Jesus spoke to His followers, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. John 5:24 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him...." John 6:44 Perhaps you have heard and believed His truths, but you lack the assurance that you have already "passed from death to life." If God is drawing you to Himself by His Spirit so that you long to receive His gifts of forgiveness and eternal life, trust Him to show you the way. Your prayer might include the following: Acknowledge the Bible uses the word "confess" who Christ is:  "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 Confess your sins: Admit in prayer that you have sinned against Him. The words King David prayed may help you:  "Search me, O God, and know my heart... and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24 Repent: Express your willingness and desire to turn from all wrong ways and follow Jesus, then trust Him -- now and each coming day -- to accomplish it by His Spirit in you. “He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." Luke 15:7 Thank Him: Thank Him for the "exchanged life": taking your weak and sinful life and, in turn, giving you His good and perfect life, enabling you to know His will and share His triumph.  "Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:20-21

Pray something like this, asking Him to help and guide you, and then be baptized:

"Dear Lord, I know I have sinned and don't deserve Your love. But I believe that You died for me, carried my sins to the cross and have forgiven me. Please change my heart, fill me with your Spirit, and purify life. Only by Your holy life in me can I follow Your ways and do what is right. Give me a hunger for your Word and a growing desire to serve You.  I trust you to show me your will and enable me to follow you -- no matter  what the cost. THEN, go to a Bible-believing, Jesus worshiping church and ask to be baptized by water baptism, which means full immersion.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

The Basis for My Salvation       "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." Or do you not know that  as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus  were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you…. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you…. because they do not know Him who sent Me. " John 15:20-21 "For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake...." Philippians 1:29 Does this sound too hard? Have you taken time to "count the cost" of being a Christian?   Many misunderstand God's "good news" of salvation to mean "cheap grace" -- the kind of relationship that demands nothing of us. True, salvation is purely by His gracious response to our faith. But once we have chosen to believe and follow Him, we become His ambassadors -- called to share His suffering as well as His triumphs -- in this world. "And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.... So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:27-28, 33 But remember, the suffering and sacrifice that comes with discipleship cannot compare with the joy, peace and that eternal hope and glory we share with Him for all eternity: "Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy." 1 Peter 4:12-14 "We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…." Romans 8:28-29 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39 How We Share in His Triumph: "…we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:4-5 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35 "…present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:1-3 "…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross…." Hebrews 12:1-2 Our Prayer For You: "...may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 "...that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height -- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory… forever and ever." Ephesians 3:14-21 "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Water Baptism - Many People Ask If It's Required for Salvation

Baptism isn't an act that gets us into heaven - it is faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord that offers that assurance. Baptism (by full immersion as taught in the Bible) is an act of obedience that should be an immediate part of our acceptance of the gift of grace offered by Jesus Christ. But it does not mean that one who truly gives their heart to Jesus on a death bed, in the heat of warfare, or in a crashing airplane, will be kept out of heaven because they failed to be baptized. The thief on the cross next to Jesus didn't have time to be baptized before he died, but he had an opportunity to believe in Jesus and put his trust in Him, and Jesus responded by saying, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43). 

True faith in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross for our sins is sufficient for salvation. Christ has already done everything. By definition, His grace doesn't require any additional "works" by us. That being said, Jesus Christ commands us to be baptized (Matthew 28:18-20), and therefore, all believers should be baptized. Immediately following Christ's command, the Book of Acts describes the practice of administering baptism to almost every group or individual who believed in the preaching of the Gospel by the apostles (Acts 2:37-41; 8:5-13; 8:35-39; 9:10-18; 10:34-48; 16:13-15; 16:30-33; 18:8; and 19:1-6). 

Water Baptism - What does it symbolize?

According to the Bible, the symbolism of baptism declares that three things happen to believers who are baptized: (1) they die with Christ to their old self; (2) they rise with Christ to become a new creature; and (3) they are incorporated in their new life with a living community which looks for the coming of the Lord (Romans 6:1-11). Contrary to what some denominations teach, it seems obvious that a Christian's baptism must necessarily require a responsible decision to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and therefore, must be delayed until an age of reason or discretion (knowing right from wrong within God's perspective). 

In short, Jesus Christ commands baptism for His followers. Although the act of baptism does not cause eternal salvation, it seems that any believer who refuses baptism should truly examine his or her conversion. 

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age'" (Matthew 28:18-20). 

Who are the Churches of Christ and What do they Believe?

What is the distinctive plea of the church of Christ?

It is primarily a plea for religious unity based upon the Bible. In a divided religious world it is believed that the Bible is the only possible common denominator upon which most, if not all, of the God-fearing people of the land can unite. This is an appeal to go back to the Bible. It is a plea to speak where the Bible speak and to remain silent where the Bible is silent in all matters that pertain to religion. It further emphasizes that in everything religious there must be a "Thus saith the Lord" for all that is done. The objective is religious unity of all believers in Christ. The basis is the New Testament. The method is the restoration of New Testament Christianity. 

The Historical background of the Restoration Movement

One of the earliest advocates of the return to New Testament Christianity, as a means of achieving unity of all believers in Christ, was James O'Kelly of the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1793 he withdrew from the Baltimore conference of his church and called upon others to join him in taking the Bible as the only creed. His influence was largely felt in Virginia and North Carolina where history records that some seven thousand communicants followed his leadership toward a return to primitive New Testament Christianity. 

In 1802 a similar movement among the Baptists in New England was led by Abner Jones and Elias Smith. They were concerned about "denominational names and creeds" and decided to wear only the name Christian, taking Bible as their only guide. In 1804, in the western frontier state of Kentucky, Barton W. Stone and several other Presbyterian preachers took similar action declaring that they would take the Bible as the "only sure guide to heaven." Thomas Campbell, and his illustrious son, Alexander Campbell, took similar steps in the year 1809 in what is now the state of West Virginia. They contended that nothing should be bound upon Christians as a matter of doctrine which is not as old as the New Testament. Although these four movements were completely independent in their beginnings eventually they became one strong restoration movement because of their common purpose and plea. These men did not advocate the starting of a new church, but rather a return to Christ's church as described in the Bible. 

Members of the church of Christ do not conceive of themselves as a new church started near the beginning of the 19th century. Rather, the whole movement is designed to reproduce in contemporary times the church originally established on Pentecost, A.D. 30. The strength of the appeal lies in the restoration of Christ's original church. 

How many churches of Christ are there?

The most recent dependable estimate lists more than 15,000 individual churches of Christ. The "Christian Herald," a general religious publication which presents statistics concerning all the churches, estimates that the total membership of the churches of Christ is now 2,000,000. There are more than 7000 men who preach publicly. Membership of the church is heaviest in the southern states of the United States, particularly Tennessee and Texas, though congregations exist in each of the fifty states and in more than eighty foreign countries. Missionary expansion has been most extensive since the second World War in Europe, Asia and Africa. More than 450 full time workers are supported in foreign countries. The churches of Christ now have five times as many members as were reported in the U.S. Religious Census of 1936. 

How are the churches organizationally connected?

Following the plan of organization found in the New Testament, churches of Christ are autonomous. Their common faith in the Bible and adherence to its teachings are the chief ties which bind them together. There is no central headquarters of the church, and no organization superior to the elders of each local congregation. Congregations do cooperate voluntarily in supporting the orphans and the aged, in preaching the gospel in new fields, and in other similar works. 

Members of the church of Christ conduct forty colleges and secondary schools, as well as seventy-five orphanages and homes for the aged. There are approximately 40 magazines and other periodicals published by individual members of the church. A nationwide radio and television program, known as "The Herald of Truth" is sponsored by the Highland Avenue church in Abilene, Texas. Much of its annual budget of $1,200,000 is contributed on a free-will basis by other churches of Christ. The radio program is currently heard on more than 800 radio stations, while the television program is now appearing on more than 150 stations. Another extensive radio effort known as "World Radio" owns a network of 28 stations in Brazil alone, and is operating effectively in the United States and a number of other foreign countries, and is being produced in 14 languages. An extensive advertising program in leading national magazines began in November 1955. 

There are no conventions, annual meetings, or official publications. The "tie that binds" is a common loyalty to the principles of the restoration of New Testament Christianity. 

How are the churches of Christ governed?

In each congregation, which has existed long enough to become fully organized, there is a plurality of elders or presbyters who serve as the governing body. These men are selected by the local congregations on the basis of qualifications set down in the scriptures (1 Timothy 3:1-8). Serving under the elders are deacons, teachers, and evangelists or ministers. The latter do not have the authority equal to or superior to the elders. The elders are shepherds or overseers who serve under the headship of Christ according to the New Testament, which is a kind of constitution. There is no earthly authority superior to the elders of the local church. 

What does the church of Christ believe about the Bible?

The original autographs of the sixty six books which make up the Bible are considered to have been divinely inspired, by which it is meant that they are infallible and authoritative. Reference to the scriptures is made in settling every religious question. A pronouncement from the scripture is considered the final word. The basic textbook of the church and the basis for all preaching is the Bible. 

Do members of the churches of Christ believe in the virgin birth?

Yes. The statement in Isaiah 7:14 is taken as a prophecy of the virgin birth of Christ. New Testament passages such as Matthew 1:20, 25, are accepted at face value as declarations of the virgin birth. Christ is accepted as the only begotten Son of God, uniting in his person perfect divinity and perfect manhood. 

Does the church of Christ believe in predestination?

Only in the sense that God predestines the righteous to be eternally saved and the unrighteous to be eternally lost. The statement of the apostle Peter, "Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons, but in every nation he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is acceptable unto him" (Acts 10:34-35.) is taken as an evidence that God did not predestine individuals to be eternally saved or lost, but that each man determines his own destiny. 

Why does the church of Christ baptize only by immersion?

The word baptize comes from the Greek word "baptizo" and literally means, "to dip, to immerse, to plunge." In addition to the literal meaning of the word, immersion is practiced because it was the practice of the church in apostolic times. Still further, only immersion conforms to the description of baptisms as given by the apostle Paul in Romans 6:3-5 where he speaks of it as a burial and resurrection. 

Is infant baptism practiced?

No. Only those who have reached the "age of accountability" are accepted for baptisms. It is pointed out that the examples given in the New Testament are always of those who have heard the gospel preached and have believed it. Faith must always precede baptism, so only those old enough to understand and believe the gospel are considered fit subjects for baptism. 

Do ministers of the church hear confession?

No. Ministers or evangelists of the church have no special prerogatives. They do not wear the title of Reverend or Father, but are addressed simply by the term Brother as are all other men of the church. Along with elders and others they do counsel and advise those seeking help. 

Are prayers addressed to the saints?

No. God the Father is considered the only one to whom the prayers may be addressed. It is further understood that Christ stands in a mediatorial position between God and man (Hebrews 7:25). All prayers are therefore offered through Christ, or in the name of Christ (John 16:23-26). 

How often is the Lord's supper eaten?

It is expected that every member of the church will assemble for worship on each Lord's day. A central part of the worship is the eating of the Lord's supper (Acts 20:7). Unless providentially hindered, each member considers this weekly appointment as binding. In many instances, as in the case of illness, the Lord's supper is carried to those who are hindered from attending the worship. 

What kind of music is used in the worship?

As a result of the distinctive plea of the church - a return to New Testament Faith and practice - acappella singing is the only music used in the worship. This singing, unaccompanied by mechanical instruments of music, conforms to the music used in the apostolic church and for several centuries thereafter (Ephesians 5:19). It is felt that there is no authority for engaging in acts of worship not found in the New Testament. This principle eliminates the use of instrumental music, along with the use of candles, incense, and other similar elements. 

Does the church of Christ believe in heaven and hell?

Yes. The statement of Christ in Matthew 25, and elsewhere, are taken at face value. It is believed that after death each man must come before God in judgment and that he will be judged according to the deeds done while he lived (Hebrews 9:27). After judgment is pronounced he will spend eternity either in heaven or hell. 

Does the church of Christ believe in purgatory?

No. The absence of any reference in the scriptures to the temporary place of punishment from which the soul will eventually be released into heaven prevents the acceptance of the doctrine of purgatory. 

By what means does the church secure financial support?

Each first day of the week the members of the church "lay by in store as they have been prospered" (1 Corinthians 16:2). The amount of any individual gift is generally known only to the one who gave it and to the Lord. This free-will offering is the only call which the church makes. NO assessments or other levies are made. No money-making activities, such as bazaars or suppers, are engaged in. A total if approximately $200,000,000 is given on this basis each year. 

Does the church of Christ have a creed?

No. At least, there is no creed in the usual sense of the word. The belief of the church is stated fully and completely in the Bible. There is no other manual or discipline to which the members of the church of Christ give their allegiance. The Bible is considered as the only infallible guide to heaven. 

How does one become a member of the church of Christ?

In the salvation of man's soul there are 2 necessary parts: God's part and man's part. God's part is the big part, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift if God; not of works, that no man should glory" (Ephesians 2:8-9). The love which God felt for man led him to send Christ into the world to redeem man. The life and teaching of Jesus, the sacrifice on the cross, and the proclaiming of the gospel to men constitute God's part in salvation. Though God's part is the big part, man's part is also necessary if man is to reach heaven. Man must comply with the conditions of pardon which the Lord has announced. Man's part can clearly set forth in the following steps: 

Hear the Gospel. "How shall they call on him whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14).

Believe. "And without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him" (Hebrews 11:6). 

Repent of past sins. "The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent"(Acts 17:30). 

Confess Jesus as Lord. "Behold here is water; What doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, if thou believeth with all thy heart thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God" (Acts 8:36-37). 

Be baptized for the remission of sins. "And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit"(Acts 2:38).

Live a Christian life. "Ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).
